Swarna Pallakk Project

Our Mahajan have long cherished the sankalpa to offer a Swarna Pallakk (Gold Palanquin) to Lord Sri Venkatachalapathi. In recent decades, the Devaswom has gifted many treasures to the Lord—Swarna Garuda Vahana (1989) and a Swarna Kalasha for Abhishekam (2018)—yet the Pallakk remained an unfinished dream. On 20 July 2025, the Mahajana Yogam unanimously resolved to complete the Swarna Pallakk in time for the 300th Pratishtha Vardhanthi (2027). A special prayer was offered on 9 August 2025, and devotees came forward with commitments in cash and gold, giving fresh momentum to the project. A robust teak-wood base and 20 major gold articles for the Pallakk are already prepared; what remains is the final gold sheathing to complete the offering before the tercentenary.

About the Project

  • The Swarna Pallakk will be used to carry Lord Panjabjapuresha in processions and for Digvijaya, enhancing the grandeur of utsavams and elevating the devotional experience of thousands of devotees. The remaining requirement is ~8 kg of 22-carat (30-gauge) gold to complete the full-gold finish over the prepared teak structure and crafted components. This offering will stand alongside our renowned fleet of Vahanams—including Swarna/Silver/Chaya Garuda, Sesha, Airavata, Surya, Hanuman, Ashwa, Hamsa, Chandra, and Pushpaka Vimana—as a shining symbol of the community’s bhakti.
